Rewiring
If your house is more than 30 years old it might need rewiring. A rewire won’t interrupt your life: you’ll have power after work hours and we’ll clean up after ourselves as we go. We can rewire a standard home in around a week. Two-storey houses aren’t a problem and we’re the experts when it comes to houses with limited access. Ask us about our dust-free wall chasing service.

Heating installation and repair
We provide supply and installation and repairs of heat pumps and air conditioners, panel heaters and fan heaters connected to the cheaper heating tariff.
Security lights and alarms
We can install security lighting including sensor lights, external lights, display lights and outdoor lighting as well as a security alarm system along with a panic button for emergencies. We can also link your system to a Hobart-based 24 monitoring service.
Smoke alarms
Every home should have at least one working smoke alarm installed between the living and sleeping areas. We’ll help you work out how many smoke alarms you need and where they should be placed.
Phone cables
We’re accredited cable installers, which means we can install extra telephone or data outlets for your home or commercial premises.

Hot water repairs
We carry out electrical repairs to hot water units including element and thermostat replacement.
Stove, oven and hot plates installation and repairs
We can repair your oven or hot plates including element, and control replacement. We can also supply and install replacement oven and hot plates or install goods supplied by you.
Lighting
We can assist with your lighting needs including general lighting, security lights and LED downlights and LED light fittings. We can also install light fittings supplied by you.
Switchboard upgrades and repairs
Farr electrical can provide switchboard upgrades from old style fuses to circuit breakers and RCD units (otherwise known as safety switches). We use combined circuit breakers / rcd units on individual circuits to minimise nuisance tripping.
Electrical safety inspections
We can thoroughly inspect your home or workplace wiring to detect any faults or potential problems and prove a written report. We can also provide pre purchase electrical inspections.
Testing and tagging
We’ll record all the testing we do on your site and manage all re-testing requirements to ensure you comply with all OH&S regulations.

- reduce downtime related to faulty equipment
Warranties
We provide a 12 month warranty that guarantees our workmanship. We also pass on manufacturer’s warranties for any parts we purchase and install on your behalf.
